费那奇镜

フェナキストスコープ（英: Phenakistoscope）またはフェナキスティスコープ（英: Phenakistiscope）は、回転のぞき絵（ゾートロープ）に先駆けて登場した初期のアニメーション機器。1831年、ベルギーのジョゼフ・プラトーとオーストリアのジーモン・フォン・シュタンプフェルがほぼ同時に発明した。日本語では「おどろき盤」という呼称もある。これは、1970年代に日本でフェナキストスコープを復元した古川タクが、「驚き盤」として命名したものとされている。

John Whitney’s pioneering work of computer animation, Arabesque, from 1975. This flowing, abstract short film is a wonder to behold, a work of art. Like many other computer graphics pioneers, this film suggests roots in psychedelics and spiritual quests as much as engineering and mathematics. Preserved by the Academy Film Archive in 2007.

利用线和面趋向会合的视错觉原理，以现实的手法在两维的平面上刻画三维物体的艺术，被称作“透视画法”，它提供了一个对物体或景色的三维观察视角。 　　Georges Schwizgebel讲述何为“透视画法（Perspectives）”，用的却是一段约两分钟的影像和一段流畅配乐。舞台上将众多焦点集于一身的女模特，从其它的视角去看，有可能是一个正在运动的男人或奔跑的猛兽形象，此物与彼物可以是同一个物体，不过观众观看的角度有异而已。

Cycles brings together 16mm film with Stephen Beck’s Direct Video Synthesizer imagery via a proprietary process Beck referred to as “editation.” Beck also composed the soundtrack to the film, which is made of one sequence repeated 12 times, with both artists contributing variations on each pass.
