Short Circuit是迪士尼动画工作室（Walt Disney Animation Studios）提出的一项实验性动画短片制作计划，按照迪士尼官方给出的说法，“迪士尼动画工作室内部的任何人都能提出自己的创意，这些创意都有机会在工作室的支持下，制作成原创动画短片。这个计划的目标，是在视觉和故事上大胆创新，给新人一个表现机会，以及，进行实验性的技术创新。” 　　总结一下，Short Circuit的核心是推陈出新。这个“新”主要体现在两方面——发掘新人才、利用新技术。至于视觉和故事上的创新，在有了新人和新技术以后，是水到渠成的事情。 　　2016年立项，迪士尼一次性攒了20部作品 　　迪士尼动画的官方推特在5月16日对外公布Short Circuit，不过据外媒报道，这项计划其实从2016年就已经开始，该计划推出的第一部作品是Jeff Gipson制作的《Cycles》。

电影讲述了三名黑衣人潜入仓库偷走了核电核，特工张大威通过线索锁定小偷为动物医院的工作人员，他深入医院调查，拍档阿丘也假扮病号潜入医院想协助张大威，但张大威认为阿丘是个累赘总试图摆脱他。随着张大威调查医院的熊医生、兔子、蝙蝠等人，他慢慢接近事实的真相——熊医生和兔子等人就是盗窃核电核的小偷，而他们盗窃的原因又那么的温情和让人感动。张大威决定保护熊医生等人，而不明真相的特工局向医院发起攻击，张大威和医院的众人团结一致奋起抵抗的故事。
