故事蓝本是日本民间传说《京鹿子娘道成寺》。2006年法国安锡（Annecy）国际动画电影节上，本片被评为“动画的世纪•100部作品”第45名。 　　年轻俊美的僧侣（安珍）同师父一道去熊野圣山参拜，在歇脚的旅馆，他遇到怀春少女（清姬），少女有心以身相许，数次向他示爱，但他谨记戒女色的师训不为所动，并声明心里只有佛祖。为求脱身，他向少女许下不日再来会她的承诺，但是没有践行。痴情的少女等不来心上人，发狂一般四处打听他的行踪，从家追到真砂，又从真砂追到日高河，无奈僧侣一心弃她而行，少女的爱终转化为恨，她化身火龙又追僧侣到道成寺，悲剧酿成。

高卢勇士之十二个任务

在很久以前，高卢这个地方是一片茂密的森林，宁静而祥和。凯撒大帝在经过激烈的战斗后，带领着他引以为傲的强大军队将领土扩张的铁蹄伸向了大不列颠岛，很快就攻占了岛上的所有部落和领地。惟独一个聚集着高卢人的村子因为拥有一种特殊的秘密武器，始终没有屈服于恺撒的军队。凯撒大帝听到这个消息后大为震怒，一向攻无不克的他怎么能输给一个小村子。 　　于是，凯撒亲自来到了村庄，并与村长订下了合约。如果，高卢人能完成他所提出的十二个任务，那罗马就承认失败，并把统治权交给高卢人。如果他们不能完成任务，所有高卢人都将成为凯撒的努力。村长一口答应下来，并派出鱼贩子小麦克斯和阿斯特应对挑战。临行前，村里的巫师给二人喝了一种神奇的药水，这种药水将赐予他们无限的力量。 　　第一项任务便是与奥运会长跑冠军比赛跑步，又老又瘦的阿斯特迎接了挑战。对手根本就不把他放在眼里，以风的速度奔向终点。没想到却因为太骄傲了，不小心撞到树上，高卢人第一项挑战不战而胜。第二项比赛投掷标枪，第三项比赛摔跤，两名高卢选手都轻松过关。接下来的挑战越来越难，但小麦克斯和阿斯特凭借不屈不挠的精神和聪明才智一举完成了前十一项任务。 　　凯撒听说高卢人连连获胜的消息后大怒，发誓要让这群土里土气的乡下人看看罗马人的利害。狡猾的宰相想出一个办法，那就是让整个高卢村民们都到角斗场决斗。看着高卢人自相残杀，凯撒得意地以为这次他将取得胜利，却没想到角斗场在高卢人的操作下变成了马戏团。凯撒无奈地承认失败，而高卢人成功地完成了任务，虽然得到了整个国家的统治权，但他们根本对政治不感兴趣，仍旧回到村子继续快乐的生活。 　　精彩视点： 　　本片根据法国同名漫画《高卢英雄》改编，这是一部充满温暖和神奇的动画电影，除了动人的歌曲配乐之外，充满魔幻色彩的叙事风格与触动人心的角色刻画，是它吸引人的重要因素。 　　本片故事内容充满了魅力，在芝加哥、挪威、阿根廷儿童影展荣获观众票选最佳影片，更获邀为台湾国际动画影展及宜兰国际儿童电影节参展影片，《高卢勇士之十二个任务》受欢迎的程度由此可见。不但掳获大人们的芳心，也让每个小孩了解到：只要齐心合力就可以克服万难。

The Humpbacked Horse Dubbed in the United States as "The Magic Pony," (Russian: Конёк-Горбуно́к; tr.:Konyok Gorbunok) is a 1947 Soviet/Russian traditionally-animated feature film directed by Ivan Ivanov-Vano and produced by the Soyuzmultfilm studio in Moscow. The film is based on the poem by Pyotr Pavlovich Yershov, and because of this everyone in the film speaks in rhymes. A remake was made in 1975 by the same director and studio.

Some of the time, they are pretty competitive against each other. Quacker appears only once in this series, with Don Messick voicing the duckling. The characters Toodles Galore, Butch, Lightning, Topsy, Meathead, Tyke, Tuffy, Mammy Two Shoes, Joan and George do not appear in this show. Also, Jerry wears a red bow tie in the series.
